The 1^st Asia Summer School on Dielectric Insulation, Harbin, China

We are pleased to announce the opening of pre-registrations for the 1^st Asia Summer School on Dielectric Insulation, organized in Sun-island, Harbin, China, from August 7–10, 2025.

This 1^st Asia Summer School, fully in English to welcome people from everywhere, intends to train Scientists, Researchers, PhD students, Engineers and Technical staff coming from both Academia and Industry and all interested in the field of Dielectric Insulation from their fundamental basics to their applications in electrical and electronic engineering.

The 1^st Asia Summer School on Dielectric Insulation will be focused on the Space Charge Transport in Dielectric Insulation: measurement, theories and simulation, materials and application, a broad range of sub-topics in the field of composites and nanocomposites: 

• Test basics: Space charge measurement method for flat sample
• Space charge measurement method in HVDC cable and its challenge
• Space charge measurement with complex and extreme temperature  condition
• Theoretical basics: space charge transport mechanism and  relevant physical processes
• Modelling and simulation of space charge transport in polymer insulation
• Factors influencing the space charge accumulation
• Performance of space charge in various material (including  solid, liquid, nano composites, multi-layer sample)
• Aging of polymeric insulation with the influence on space      charge
• The challenge of turning AC cable into DC cable
• The challenge of HVDC cable working on higher than 600 kV for      long distance offshore wind power transmission

The 1^st Asia Summer School wish to gather around the young researchers working on the field of electrical insulation or high voltage engineering everywhere. The four-days training of the Asia Summer School aims at extending the young researchers’ understanding and basic knowledge on the key topic with presentations from invited professors, leading them open their minds to work on specific topics and find proper solutions for the problems. The young researches would have an experience of working together on a research question, and get shared experience on how to do research and make up scientific proposal.
